Winning this scholarship has allowed me to focus on my studies and to be really involved on campus. I don’t have to worry about working a job on top of my studies and finding a way to fund my education. After graduation, I'm hoping to get my MBA so I can work as a hospital administrator after overcoming health challenges as a child.
I just wrapped up my freshman year as an Agricultural Communication & Marketing major at the University of Minnesota. My interest in agriculture put me back in the barn to help care for my dairy cows while also giving me a chance to pursue my passion in school. I was recognized on the Dean's List for both semesters, while staying active in three clubs on campus. My parents are both teachers so education has always been on the forefront of my priorities. Thanks to the Burger King Foundation, I am able to attend a big college without worrying about the financial burden.
Thanks to the Burger King Scholarship, I was able to fund my education at the University of Central Florida. Without it, I may not have been able to attend otherwise. It really helped take some of the financial pressure off while I was a student and allowed me to focus on excelling in my studies. As a result, I was able to do well which made all the difference as I applied and then was accepted to medical school. The Burger King Scholarship program was a large part of that.
